Tyler Lockett joins the show this week, and the guys discuss the Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49ers in their final regular season game. Russell and Tyler discuss Tyler’s continued improvement since his rookie year, and how he has become one of the best wide receivers in the league. Tyler talks about the disappointment that comes with losing in the playoffs, and what he hopes the team can do to make a playoff run this year. Lastly, Jeff leads the guys through the 2-minute drill!
Russell and Jeff start the show by introducing their guest – Tyler Lockett, one of the best wide receivers to ever wear a Seahawks jersey! They start off the show by discussing Tyler’s impressive skill set that has allowed him to flourish in the NFL. Russell tells Tyler how he observed him putting in the extra work as a rookie, and knew he was going to be a special player.
(6:30) Jeff asks Russell and Tyler to recap their win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday; why they started slow and what ‘clicked’ for them in the 4th quarter. Jeff then asks the guys why they decided to throw a quick pitch to David Moore instead of taking a knee at the end of the game, and whether or not they were scoreboard watching.
(15:45) Russell and Tyler talk playoffs; Tyler explains the frustration that came with the Seahawks’ last two playoff losses, and what he thinks the team needs to do to get over the hump. Russell praises his top two receivers, Tyler and D.K. Metcalf, for both of their impressive years. Jeff then asks Russell and Tyler where their chemistry on the field comes from.
